About the course

Designed for people who want to move into IT support.

The IT Support Specialist Traineeship is delivered by GRETB Training Centre in Mervue. It is aimed at learners who want a structured route into IT support, helpdesk, desktop support and related entry-level technical roles.

The course combines technical learning, exam preparation, communication skills, CV and interview preparation, and a substantial work placement element.

Technical support is customer support.

Good IT support combines troubleshooting, clear communication, patience and professionalism. The course will present both the technical and people-facing sides of the role.

16 weeks of real workplace experience.

The placement element is one of the strongest parts of the traineeship. It gives learners the opportunity to apply their skills in a real organisation, build confidence and gain practical experience that employers value.
